Oh Christmas Trees !!

Hi,

I promise not a bunny insight ;-). Today Harrison is going to a cookery class, while we walk Clio, tomorrow we are going bowling, then lunch with one of H's Rugby friends, then we are meeting up on Monday with another one, wishing you all a Happy Easter (seems weird saying that, when i'm showing you Christmas cards !!).

Today is my second month as Guest Designer on the fabby Maureen's Rudolph Days Challenge and this month Maureen is offering a choice of one of these lovely Memory Box dies as a prize this month :

or

Remember the Challenge starts today and ends Thursday 31st March and all you have to do is make a Christmas card and join in the fun - now pop over and check out what Maureen and the rest of the Guest Design Team have come up with.

When i get a new image, i stamp them onto card, so hopefully i don't buy repeats, well these two were sitting side by side on my Xmas images and as one is old (1996) and the other is new (2009), i thought i would do a bit of a contrast - a vintage version with the old one and a modern version with the new one, using the same sketch and center embossing folder, both cards are 4 x 4 inch square.

The stamp is : Penny Black - 'Christmas Hedgehog / 971D / 1996', the snow is : Stampendous - 'Chunky White Embossing Enamel', the paper is : Basic Grey - 'Figgy Pudding', the sentiment is : LOTV - 'Christmas Tags', the embossed trees : Cuttlebug - 'Winter Trees', the ribbon is from stash.

The stamp is : Penny Black - 'To Have And To Hug / 4009F / 2009', the snow is : Stampendous - 'Chunky White Embossing Enamel',  the paper is : First Edition - 'Stocking Fillers', the sentiment is : LOTV - 'Christmas Tags', the embossed trees : Cuttlebug - 'Winter Trees', the ric rac is from my stash.

The Challenges I Would Like To Enter Are :

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas - where Challenge CHNC No: 273 is 'Cute Or Anything Goes, As Long As It's Christmas'

ABC Christmas - where 'F Is For Frills Or No Frills'

Christmas At Sweet Stampin' - where the Challenge is 'Cute'

Holly Jolly Christmas - where Challenge No; 68 is 'Use Your Stash' - all of the stash i've used on both cards is all old

Di / Pixie's Snippets Playground - where Di is up to Week No: 221

Sparkles Christmas where Challenge No: 62 is 'An Old Fashioned Christmas' - I would like to enter the old / vintage style, first card

Thanks for looking and for any comments you would like to leave, would be most appreciated, Luv Sam x

These are both so lovely, Sam. I love that adorable Penny Black image! We do not have hedgehogs here and when I first stamped a Penny Blackimage at a card class I took, I coloured it all wrong I made it brown with a dark beige underbody. I think it was golfing hedgie and the colours worked with the papers and golf embellies i was using. Now I cringe when I see it as it still sits in my stash cards!

Thanks for making these lovely inspiration cards for the March Rudolph Days Challenge.

Hedgie is always delightful, whether vintage or new. Love your contrast idea, and the papers & design on each are so pretty. The border strip with the embossing is really effective, and love the bright green of the rickrack dressing up little Hedge. Both are just splendid cards! TFS
