Hi,

Well this week has been very tiring and trying and we haven't even got to Friday yet - OH started his new job on Monday and got home first day at 7.45pm, it has improved since, he now gets home at 7pm, but leaves at 6.45am, so the alarm clock goes off at 6am, but we are awake before then, in case we oversleep and the trying bit has been H, as he is not used to seeing very little of his Daddy !!

With today's card i've used a stamp, that i don't think i've used before, but yet have had for 15 months, i guess i was never quite sure what to do with it, but i'm loving the simplicity of the Cards For Men sketch and i thought the papers that i've used, name was apt as it's 'Seabreeze' !! and i've just finished it off with some buttons and twine and a simple sentiment too.

Hi,

This is going to be a really quick post, as we are going to RHS Wisley today to see the Butterflies in the glasshouse, as H has an inset day. Tomorrow after some time of waiting, i'm having an MRI scan done on my right knee to finally find out what's going on, yipee.

When i first saw the Penny Black At Allsorts colour challenge bingo for this month, i thought there is no way i can do that, then last weekend, it came to me, yes i could do it and why had i not thought about it before, as the middle row of 'Yellow, Black and White' - to me refers to only 1 PB stamp and that is the one i'm using today, it's just so perfect for the job. Now the reason i didn't make this card earlier in the week was because i had to order some wide black lace. The papers are the reliable 'Doodlebug' and in fact the yellow one is aptly named 'Bumblebee' !!

Just Wishing You

Hi,

Gee I can't believe it's been a week since I last posted - took H to see 'The Muppet Movie' last Thursday, which is good and he went back to school on Monday, although he has an inset day on Friday. My OH has been off all this week doing jobs !!, before he starts his new job next Monday. I did Easy Aqua on Monday to ease myself back into gentle exercise - came home and went to sleep for over an hour !!, but felt really great afterwards, so will be doing it again next week.

I started this card on Sunday and only got round to finishing it today - the image is unfortunatley not mine, but i would love to have it, as it goes so well with a star theme, the papers are Basic Grey - 'Nordic Holiday' and with the plainer red i embossed it with my new Sizzix folder 'Stars and Swirls Set' (which i love), the stars are cut using Spellbinder / Nestie Stars set (i've put glossy accents on the red stars), punched edge is a Woodware punch and there is 'Glitter Dust' on the hat.

Found Love !

Hi,

Why is it the best laid plans never happen when you have a 5 year old ???, yesterday H was supposed to go off to the local leisure centre for a day of fun, whilst OH and i were going to have a romantic lunch together and also unbeknown to me he had ordered flowers to arrive during our lunch - well that was until 5am yesterday morning when H woke up with a raging temperature, gave him some Calpol and within 20 mins he was cooler, but looked really spaced, so instead of a nice lunch, H had a duvet day and i made a card !!!, fortunately he's a lot better today, so we are going out this afternoon.

You might need a pair of sunglasses for todays card, as it's a little bright !! - the papers are Bo Bunny and i only seem to have 2 sheets of the design, but fortunately they are double sided and are plain on the reverse - ideal to emboss some hearts on. I've used this sketch before and i love it, as it's so ideal for little images and the charm was in a bargain bucket in a card shop in the sales - it's actually a phone charm and it cost me 20p.

Xmas Treat !

Hi,

Well it's half term this week, so i'm not sure how much i will be around, as i'm planning on taking H out on a couple of days out - starting with today, we went to see 'The Chris and Pui Roadshow' (CBBeebies presenters), tomorrow H is going to the local leisure centre for pancake making and swimming, Wednesday is a haircut, decorating t-shirt and crowns for our local village's Childrens Parade in May !!!

For a change i've made an oval easel card, but i thought this was the best shape for the image - which is just so adorable and so reminds me of Whisper (my pooch)!!, the papers are from American Crafts, that i have not previously cut into, i also liked the idea of the stocking charm.

Hi,

Gee, how cold is it and they are expecting more snow by the weekend, oh yipee, just as the half term starts, and i've paid for son to do a couple of things too, which i guess could be cancelled !!

The papers and colours i've picked are unusual for me, i wanted to take part in the Basic Grey challenge, but i was struggling to find a pad that was suitable for the image and flowers, that i wanted to use in the end i came across Two Scoops, which was subtle enough for what i wanted. I had a play with my Tim Holtz - Elegant Flourish and i must use it more often, the flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Hi,

Well i hope you are not all snowed in ??, we only had a flurry here - fortunately, so by this morning you would never know that we had actually had snow !!

This post is a mile stone for me, it's my 200th card - wow can you believe it - my darling beloved OH says he can, in fact he thought it was more, well that's a man for you isn't !!!

I was fortunate enough to buy this stamp set in Crafty Emma's sale, i love it as it reminds me of the Love Heart sweets i used to get as a child. The fabulous Doodlebug has come up trumps again with the papers, the ribbon is adhesive ribbon (hence why i didn't put a bow in it) from DCWV, i couldn't resist using my Spellbinders Heart Circles again and i'm now so glad that i bought heart gems in another colour, beside red !!

Cupid At Work

Hi,

After weeks of stress and 7 interviews (yes 7), my darling other half has gone and got himself a new job (we found out about it 2 weeks ago, but i wasn't allowed to say anything, until he had officially resigned), to say we are all happy is an understatement - only problem is it's London and Europe based, which means son, Whisper and I will probably see less of him.

I so love traditional colours for Valentines Cards - Red and Black and the papers Bo Bunny - 'Crush' are so ideal too (in fact i may have to get myself another pad, as i love them so much). The image was sent to me ages ago by my lovely friend Janice, thanks hun. There is hearts on the image, but to make them stand out, i've used heart gems, the black heart ribbon slider, i've had for a while - in fact i have them in a couple of colours and not used any of them !!!

Hi,

I went to see the consultant yesterday and he has agreed to me having an MRI scan on my knee, so appointment should come through in 3-4 weeks, yipee, then i might get the problem fixed. This post is also going to be very short and sweet, as the Ibuprofen is starting to wear off and it's very uncomfortable to type.

When i saw the challenge at Here Comes The Boys this week, i knew exactly what stamp set and papers i was going to use and fortunately for me there are also some other boy challenges around as well as spotty ones.

Can't Help It !

Hi,

Been to see 'Quack' about hand and she just thinks it's a knock on effect of using crutches, but has done a blood test to make sure and tomorrow i'm off the consultant to see what the next step is for my knee - hopefully a scan and further investigation.

I so adore this fun image i've used today, it was makes me giggle (i've tried to do the heart thing with Whispers ears, but they are not quite big enough !!). I had seen a couple of blogs using these fabby papers and had to have them, fortunately Crafty Emma had them reduced to £4.38 from £6.50 and i thought the plainer paper would go perfectly with the sizzix embossing folder i got in the Sir Stampalot sale reduced to £4.10 from £6.50, i put glossy accents over the left over hearts from the die and used those instead of embellishments.

Hi,

I'm going to keep todays post short and sweet, as i'm finding it difficult to type as both my index fingers are swollen and my wrists hurt - off to see 'Quack' tomorrow to see if she can find a solution - she'll probably say it's a knock on effect of my knee !!!

I won this image ages ago and yet i don't stamp her up very often, but i thought she would be ideal for a 'Winter' challenge, as she looks snug as a bug in her coat and muffler - i've used for the first time my fabby Bo Bunny papers and Memory Box Snowflake Corner (i'd never heard of them, till my friend Janice mentioned them and now i can't get enough of them), the snowflakes are a mixture of dies and punches and to finish off i've added some gems and ribbon.

Hi,

I had a wonderful massage last night and i'm feeling great - my thick support is working wonders, to help tighten everything up.

Today's card is using a stamp that i thought would make great boys cards, but have not stamped up yet, first time out for the papers and sentiment too, the corners have been made using my MS - basic photo corner, that i really don't use often enough and the twine was from a Ben Sherman tag, that was attached to my son's jacket from T K Maxx.

Balloon Madness

Hi,

Well i'm officially a doughnut / muppet !!! - went to physio and she gave me some exercises to do, was supposed to have a massage on thursday, but it got cancelled by the woman at the last minute and i was so gutted, - well that evening i tripped over son's scooter and i went one way and guess what - yes my knee went the other way !!!, so it was a trip up to the local minor injuries clinic yesterday, they x-rayed it, there is nothing wrong with the bone or cartilage, so i have a ligament problem, so i'm now wearing a very sexy support !!!.

Today's card is for one of son's girly friends from school, who is having a party next week. I find this stamp is rather large, so i decided to stamp it and cut it out individually, then paper piece the spotty paper onto the balloons, added a sentiment and a 5 in the middle, finished off with purple gems- it is supposed to be Lilac, but the photo looks more blue, so i may have to take another photo tomorrow.

Hi,

Well would you believe it, 2 posts in 2 days - don't worry it won't last, as i have the physio tomorrow and a massage on Thursday.

For those of you, who are familiar with this stamp - you will realise that the toads are not swinging flowers around , but i wanted to make it into a boys card for a change, so i used star brads instead and my favourite boys papers Echo Park - Little Boy - to carry on the stars theme i've cut out some stars using my spellbinders nesties, embossed the plain paper and added a stars border.

Hi,

Firstly i must apologise for the 'The Boring Bit' i have had to add to my blog, but it seems that a couple of people are taking my ideas and using them, without my permission, even though i now paint my images with my name on them.
We had a lovely Saturday, we had lunch with son's best friend, her mum and brother, then we went to an Epiheny at their church, where the kids dressed as kings and queens and played games. Yesterday my OH had the job of putting all the Lego kits together that son had got for Xmas and Birthday presents !!!

For todays card i've used a new stamp and sentiment, that i got in the Sir Stampalot sale - i thought the stamp would be versatile, as i could use it for men's cards as well, by hanging a fish from the line. For a change, i decided to hunt out my kraft card, as i feel it was a better backing for the fabby BG papers. I've embossed the plainer bits of paper, to lift them.

Hi,

Well i hope you all had a good New Year - OH and i went to see 'Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol', as for a change we had a free babysitter (we were in Yorkshire and Grandad did the honours), but we were home in time for the fireworks, as Whisper is scared. Well something things don't change my knee is not good again, so it's back to the physio next week, oh joy and i've also managed to some how pull the muscle in my shoulders, so typing is not easy !!!

I had to make a card to thank friends and family for son's Christmas and Birthday (he was 5 on 3rd Jan) presents, so this is what i came up with - although next year i will have to come up with a simpler idea(I've had to make 5 of this design), as next year he is having a party (we decided after the cost of the cruise a party, was one expense to much). I decided on this stamp and found some old papers that i have in both 12x12 and 8x8 !, gem stars were ones i've had ages and the sentiment is taken from a transparent set i bought in a sale last year.

Hi,

Well i guess you all thought i had disappeared off the face of the earth ???, well i did nearly - as soon as my knee was better and i was able to drive again, in that first week i was so busy, then i got a cold and cough, which lasted for almost 2 weeks and finished just in time for me to fly to Barbados to pick up a ship and cruise round the Caribbean (visiting Antigua, St Maarten, St Lucia, Dominica, Curaco, Bonaire and Jamaica) for 2 weeks, we got back the 18th and then it was into a crazy week doing all the Santa visiting things !!!, but now i'm back, yipee. So now you know why you all got your cards early !! and thank you for mine.

I can't believe Christmas was last Sunday and today i've made, yes you've guessed it a Christmas Card (probably because most of the challenges are still Christmas related !!). Today i've used a cute little stamp that i bought from a well known auction site - in fact i bought 5 snowmen stamps (all PB) for £7.30, so i was well chuffed - and i thought a WOW card would be the best option so i stamped in Versafine onto pearlescent card, then sprinkled over Crystal embossing powder and heated, i've used a CB folder 'Snowflakes' for the background and the strips were last years in the sale Papermania embossing folders that i bought for 75p each (and you get 4 strips in each pack), to finish off i've used white pompom and pearls.

Furry Present !

Hi,

I was signed off by Physio on Monday, yipee - but she has put me on something called SOS, which means if knee starts to blow up again or starts to hurt, then i'm too ring her straight away and she'll sorted me out with an appointment, - i'll be on this till the beginning of January. Therefore Tuesday i was able to drive for the first time in 5 weeks and as i live in a village, with a bus service once an hour !!! you can understand my frustration, at not being able to get around.

I decided to use a stamp that i bought from a fellow crafter who doesn't have the time to craft anymore, so this is a new one for me to use, and i've mounted it all on pearlescent gold card. I've stamped round the edge of the image with my PB 'Snow Scroll' in a gold ink and have used my ever faithful DCWV papers and my MS punch. The gold ric rac is very old Docrafts stuck on a sheet ribbon.

The Park Bench Affair

Hi,

Well i have a couple of hours peace and quiet, as OH has taken son to a party, so i thought whilst they were out i would upload my latest offering. I have got the Physio tomorrow, so hopefully she will sign me off, so that i can drive for the first time in 5 weeks on Tuesday, as i am desperate for a haircut and when i say desperate i really do mean it !!!

With regards to the name of today's stamp, boy they do come up with silly names for them sometimes !!!. this card is based around the challenge at Die Cut Dreams, as it's a recipe and the colour Red. I think i may have to go and buy some more of these fabby papers though, as i'm a real lover of proper Red for Love / Valentines cards, and the majority of manufacturers like other colours.

Hi,

Well i'm back to walking 4 year old son to school and back, OH has decided i should take Whisper too ( I think it's because he's fed up with doing it), i'm still using 1 crutch as i'm scared that the children & parents will knock into me.

For todays card i've made another Valentines cards to send out to the troops as i thought i had 10, but i actually only had 9 !!, i've used a stamp that i've had for about 18 months, but was made in 2000. I found some fabby BG papers that have not been used yet and fortunately for me, one of them was text, so i'm able to enter Cupcake Craft and i finised it off with some heart buttons and lush blue ribbon. I also used for the first time my Cutterbee, but i think i'm going to have to practise with it, to get my faux stitching up to standard.

Hi,

Yesterday OH and 4 year old son went to Wembley to watch the Rugby League Double Header - Wales V New Zealand and England V Australia - and son was supporting the OZ's, he says because of Aunty Bren and Laurie (my best friend and her daughter who live in Sydney), but OH says it's because they were surrounded by young good looking Australian girls !!

Todays image is another Cat - my mate Janice keeps thinking i'm becoming a cat lover, but no that's not the case, just the fact that there are far more Cat PB's then there are Dog ones !!! I stamped the image in black, but for the snowflake i stamped in versamark and then embossed with silver and highlighted it with 'Crystal' Stickles. I decided i wanted to make my own background, so i found some holographic silver paper and used CB 'Snowflakes' and for the white card used my PB 'Snow Scroll' and embossed with silver. For the snowflake i've covered it in Stampin Up heat & stick powder and dazzling diamonds.

Well tonight my OH and I are going on a very rare night out, to see 'Charlie Boorman', which should be fun - the guy who went round the world on his motorbike with Ewan McGregor.

Hi,

I had physio today and she's happy with the way i'm progressing - even though i feel so frustrated and starting to get cabin fever !!!, H is being taken to school in the mornings this week by a friend and i'm picking him up in the afternoon, but i must admit, it seems to be taking me twice as long as normal !!

It's funny how i'm like a child in a sweet shop, i get a new stamp and i want to make a card with it, leaving ones (like the one i've used today) that i've had for 2 years in the box !!!, i've teamed it up with some fabby Bo Bunny papers and i've gone glitter mad with my Stampin Up heat & stick powder and my dazzling diamonds !!

Hi,

I was reluctant to put my signature on my cards, but i have received a couple of spam comments from somebody using my card designs for other things, so because of this, they have forced me to do something about it and i would recommend to anybody else to do the same - I would like to thank the lovely people at Docrafts forum for helping me out with it.

The swelling on my knee is starting to go down, thank goodness, but there is still a sharp pain on the left hand side of it, oh well i better keep doing the exercises, as i'm going back to see the physio on Monday.

For todays card i have dug out some very old Papermania papers and a stamp that i've had a while, but there is something sweet and adorable about it, i've also used my faithful MS Snowflake punch and a sentiment stamp i got in the sales last year.

Hi,

Ok this is going to be a very quick post tonight, as i'm absolutely shattered - OH drove myself, H and his mum to my lovely friend Celias for 9am and we only got in 20 mins ago !! - H and MIL went to see 'Numberjacks' with Celia, Chloe and Joshua, then they had a Halloween treasure hunt and poor Celia has cooked us all lunch and dinner too.

Todays cards colours are a little different for me - green and gold, but i thought they were good for a Male Christmas Card, plus i wanted to have a play with some unused items - the stamp and the embossing folder and also combine both types of embossing - dry and heat. Sorry about the quality of the photo, but the light really doesn't seem to like the Metallic Gold Card.

Hi,

Yesterday i went to see the Physio ( they managed to find me an appointment, as i was an urgent referral from the hospital), so she has given me some exercises to do - with one of them i have to use son's sledge, slide it across the floor trying to encourage the knee to bend.

Todays card is a little different for me, as i have used my Nesties - Labels 8 to make the shape of it, but i thought the stamp fitted it well, i've also used some old Doodlebug papers, (if you need something plain and co-ordinating you can always rely on them) and to finish off a motorbike charm and a computer generated sentiment.

Hi,

At the moment i'm struggling to get the temperature and swelling down on my knee - even though i'm resting it and using packets of frozen peas !!! I went to the fracture clinic on tuesday and what a waste of time the doctor and nurses were - the doctor said my name, but reckoned i lived in Littlehampton !!, which is about 15 miles from where i do live !!, then the nurse said she wanted my crutches back - how she thought i was going to walk i don't know - you wonder if they actually read your notes ???, it's a shame really as A & E were superb and i couldn't have asked anymore from them.

As i'm a little behind on the Xmas card pile, i thought i would do another one, plus i'm not really into Halloween !!. This time i have used an image that has been kindly sent to me, some fabby Doodlebug papers, my MS punch that doesn't get used as much as the snowflake one and i loved the idea of doing a banner greeting - i have embossed the banner with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder.

Hi,

Ok i thought i was getting better with my knee until i went to bed Friday night and was awake most of in agony, so Saturday morning it was decided we should go to A&E to get it checked out as it was at least 8 times the size of the other knee !!, after an x-ray i was diagnosed with a 'Torn Cartildge', which means i'm on crutches for at least 3 weeks, so my poor OH and 4 year old son are having to run around after me - OH even attached a pair of socks under Whispers collar to bring to me, how sweet !!!

If my card is not up to it's usual standard you now know why, as i'm taking paracetamol and ibuprofen !!! I started this card last Wednesday, when i saw the Challenge for ABC Christmas, where it was to use up your old stash, that has not been opened - well it didn't take me long to find a stamp and papers that i bought in the sales last year !!!, i then found a tutorial to make a teabag tree by the lovely Jacqui and i thought i would give it a whirl, as it's something i've never tried and thought i would decorate mine with some WOC pearls rather than glitter.

Hi,

Good news head and arm are now a lot better - knee not so good and apparently according to my lovely OH (he who knows best, well that's what he says !!!), i was a Muppet last night as i went to bed with a cushion under it, thus putting more pressure on it, he says i should have used a pillow, as this would have distributed the weight more !!! It was H's first review at school yesterday, so OH and i went along and he seems to be doing alright, which is good news and early days !!!

Well todays card was not supposed to be a CAS / Heart card, it should have been a Christmas one, but silly me forgot i only had 9 Valentines Cards to send to the troops and i like to send 10 and as they have to be sent very soon, i thought i had better get on with it - anyway it gave me a good excuse to use a very sweet but old (1998) PB stamp ( i was going to use it as a childs birthday card, but i think i prefer it as a Valentines card) and my new 'Heart Circles' from Spellbinders, that i embossed onto card and then cut out a template and distressed the outside circle, i have also covered the balloons in glossy accents, but not sure if it shows up in photo.

Hi,

Firstly thank you all, for your kind words, i've decided that i'm just going to say hello to them, but that's it, and yes my trip to The Glitter Pot did help. I'm like a walking disaster at this week yesterday morning i did yoga and ever since i've been in agony with my knee, pulled the boot of my car down on my head and i now have a nice lump !! and my left arm hurts from the Hep A jab i had yesterday, for a trip we are going on later in the year.

I've made todays card for my box of, just in case cards !!! I've used a fabby stamp, that i must confess i don't have, but i was fortunate enough to have a couple of images sent to me. I've also used some very old K& Co papers, that are great for boys cards and some little bicycle buttons, that i had forgotten i had. I'm hoping also my distressing is a little better as i have now bought the proper felt pads, instead of using the foam ones.

Hi,

It's offical i HATE the school run - i'm so fed up with other mums speaking to me when they are on their own and yet when they get into a group, i seem to have invented 'Invisibility', as i just get ignored / blanked !!!, so to cheer myself up last week i drove over to The Glitter Pot and treated myself to a couple of things including the Tim Holtz dies 'Elegant Flourishes'.

On a more positive note, i've just found out that i have been picked to be a 'Cupcake Cutie' - thank you so much, this is just the positive pick up i needed.

Let It Snow

Hi,

Well what a difference a couple of days make !!, one minute i'm in my shorts and teeshirt, the next i've got my waterproofs out !!!, today i've done Yoga and then went for a Reflexology treatment, so i'm all chilled now.

I bought todays stamp in the Sir Stampalot sale at Christmas and wondered what i was going to do with it, until i saw the Challenge at Cupcake Craft, i knew exactly what i wanted to do - so i stamped it in versamark onto black card, sprinkled it with white embossing powder, then heated it, embossed snowflakes onto the other black card and layered it onto white bling card (i'm not sure it shows up on picture) and finished with a ribbon.

Hi,

I must confess that although the lovely warm weather has been nice, i'm now glad that it's going to cool down, as H has been beside himself, i'm so glad we went to the theatre yesterday (which although not my cup of tea, H loved) and when we got to Chloe's house, her mum got the paddling pool out and the kids had so much fun.

The stamp i've used today is the very first PB i ever bought, and it's so right for a 'Down On The Farm' theme, the colours are unusual for me, as i usually colour it in, in more softer girly colours. I've used a paper pad that i've never opened, only stroked !!, i loved the zigzag paper so much, as it allowed me to use my trusty punch, that is so fabby for male cards.

Football Crazy

Hi,

Well hasn't the weather been fabulous - took H to a farm activity centre yesterday (when he was on Inset Day), today he has been swimming and tomorrow we are going to a children's show 'Way Back Home' with his friend Chloe and her mum has kindly offered to cook us dinner afterwards.
On Thursday night i went for an MRI scan, as my migraines seem to be getting worse, so to reassure me more than anything i requested one - i tried it with just shutting my eyes, but i just freaked, so the nurse kindly gave me an eyemask and with 'Kylie' singing in my ears i felt alot better - i should know the results in a couple of weeks.

This card has been made for one of H's school friends who is going to be 5 on Thursday - initially i was going to use just plain old black and white buttons, till i found these fabby football ones in a drawer ( i must confess i had completely forgotten about them), they came with 2 American Footballs (that could double as Rugby ball) and 2 Baseballs. The sentiment i got in a bundle of other stamps, whilst purchasing 2 PB stamps, but i thought it worked well with the image. I've had the stamp since last November.

Hi,

Wow how warm is it ?, it's been lovely being able to wash my nets. H has Inset day on Friday fortunately, as that is supposed to be the hottest day. This afternoon i'm taking him with his bike to a park and a lake for a ride round and an ice cream.

Hi,
After a very hectic weekend i was glad son went back to school today, so i could sit back and chill for a couple of hours !!! Saturday i took H swimming then we went to a farm activity centre where they had a bird of prey day on, whilst OH stayed home and did some DIY, Sunday OH took son and dog to rugby - yes H actually plays tag rugby at 4 years of age and in the afternoon we did a farm walk and cream tea - the walk was supposed to be an hour long and ended up being 2 hours, so by that time H and his friends Chloe and Joshua were literally hanging and didn't know what day of the week it was !!!

As 2 of H's friends had birthdays within 2 days of each other i thought todays card had better top up my supplies again !!, it also gave me a good excuse to try something new - using my deep edge doily lace trim to make a surround for the image, using the lovely Debby's tutorial, but i think i need more practice, as i've shown too much of it. I also used some fabby MS papers, that i managed to get in Houston, 2 years ago, but have not really played with them that much.

Hi,
I had a fabby weekend with my friend Jane - 'Top Hat' was amazing and well worth the money, they were on stage for nearly 3 hours, gee they must be so exhausted by the end, it was also very funny, which is something i wasn't expecting - if you get the chance to go, i highly recommend it. We also went to Winchester on Saturday, to a fabby restuarant 'Dim T' apparently there are also 5 in London, we also went to M & S at Hedge End - gee i've never seen an M & S quite so big !

For today's card i've used a stamp that i found in a craft shop in Winchester at the weekend and it was only £4 and i thought it would make an ideal CAS card, so when i got back and saw there were a couple of blogs 'One Layer' cards i thought i would give it a whirl - this is also so out of my comfort zone, as i so love my papers.

Hi,

H seems to be settling in alright - although he's very tired last night he slept for nearly 12 hours, gee my OH were like, ok what shall we do now !!! Weather here at the moment is fabby, which is good news as it allows me to get some washing dry. I'm off to Southampton for the weekend to see 'Top Hat' starring Tom Chambers (the guy who won Strictly with Camilla) at The Mayflower theatre with my friend Jane and i'm so looking forward to it.

Can you believe H got an invite for a party on Monday this week !!!, well unfortunately he can't make it, as we have other plans, but he still wanted to send Grace a card, so this is for her - I'm sure my Mum will appreciate the image more than her though !!! I've used my new Stampin Up scallop round the corner punch, but it caused me a bit of a headache to start with, as the dimensions didn't come with it, unlike Martha Stewart !! I also decide to have a little play with the swirl i have, but don't use very often - shame on me.

Birthday Dog

Hi,

It seems ages (well nearly 2 weeks) since i lasted posted a card, but hopefully things will start to improve, as H from today is doing full-time, last week he was with me more, than he was at school !! - Monday we had to go in with him, Tuesday and Wednesday 9-12.15 and Thursday and Friday 1.45-3.15 !!! I'm also really sorry, as i have not even had the time to visit all of your lovely blogs.

For todays card, i thought i would have a go at a 'Criss Cross Card' and also a play with my new embossing folder 'Bone & Paw Print' - which when i saw it i knew i just had to buy. I've also used some Kraft card (well Stampin Up - Crumb Cake) for the first time and i so love the effect for a man's card. The cake on the tag is the same one with the image - i just masked it off and stamped it.

Hi,
I hope you all had a good Bank Holiday, ours was quiet as i wanted to do some things i've been meaning to do for a while, but we did go out on Sunday to the marina where the local lifeboat had an open day, so we had a chance to go aboard and do a quiz about water safety, whilst there we had lunch at my favourite italian 'Zizzi's'. Well today is H's last day at nursery, as he officially starts school next Monday.

Todays card is being sent to my OH's nephew who did very well in his GCSE's last week and the fabby image was sent to me by a very lovely friend, whom i was fortunate enough to meet at a crafty get together in Blackpool a couple of years ago, Evelyn and who is also a PB nutter !! Off To School

Hi,
Well what a couple of weeks i've had !!!, last weekend we went up to Yorkshire to see the outlaws - whilst there OH and son went to 'Yorkshire Air Museum', while i went shopping at the outlet mall, we all went to 'RHS Harlow Carr' and we met up with OH's best friend and his family. Since we've been back i've also been really busy with one thing and another.

As promised a photo of H and Chloe (I have got permission from Chloe's mum) dressed as a medival knight and princess :

Whilst away i was fortunate enough to win a couple of blog challenges, which still doesn't feel real and is still sinking in, especially as the prizes were with 2 fabby companies and i'm still deciding what to buy from one of them.

Todays card is for son, as he starts school next Monday and as i had made Chloe one already, i thought i had better get on and make his !! I bought this LOTV ages ago, especially for this card - and i wanted to recreate H in is school uniform - black trousers, royal blue sweatshirt, white polo shirt and green pe bag (green for his house colour), but it's taken me ages to get round to doing it, as i didn't know if i would be able to recreate it !!! The papers were bought in a fabby little craft shop in 'Whitby', whilst we were in North Yorkshire in June. I saw the ribbon on Mandy's blog and knew i had to have it.

Hi,

I know 2 postings in 2 days !!, well tomorrow we are going to Bodiam Castle , where H and Chloe are going to dress up as a knight and princess and then after that, we are really busy, so there will be no more cards from me, till at least next week.

I know i'm sad, as i have this image in a wooden as well as the slapstick version - but in my defence i liked the wording that came with the slapstick, plus it's also a little smaller than the wooden version. This image so much reminds me of H (he also loves planes) and Whisper, only thing is i would love to recreate this image in a photo, but i don't think Whisper would agree to leaning !!! The papers i've used again i've had for a while and all i seem to do with them is stroke them !!, the ticket stamp was a bargain from 'The Glitter Pot' 99p - i liked the Tim Holtz ones, but they are all precut and stamped.

Hi,

Well the last couple of days have been a little hectic !! On Saturday H and his best friend Chloe met the author & illustrator of childrens books Nick Sharratt and H won the snap competition and for his prize Nick drew him a picture of all his favourite things (that he picked out of a book) and they included an Elvis outfit, jelly and a pet dragon !! Yesterday we went to a steam festival, which turned into a bit of a disaster as Whisper wanted to come with us and then hated every minute of it !!! and today H has done 2 hours of golf, followed by a bike ride round the park in Horsham.

I would just like to say 'Thank You So Much' i was so taken aback by all the wonderful comments on my last card, it meant a lot to me.

Things To Do !

Hi,

Yesterday i braved the M25 and drove to RHS Wisley with son and his best friend, her mum and brother - we had a good time and the little ones decorated treasure boxes - my son wanted to have worms all over it, where his friend wanted a nice flower and ladybird - i guess that's boys for you !!!

The title of the stamp i've used is very apt, as this was a card that needed to be done by Monday 5th September, as that is the day my son 'H' and his best friend Chloe start school - so i started with Chloe's card first and luckily for me, over the years i've bought little nick nacks that are suitable for a school project - i wasn't sure what to say on the sentiment, as i didn't want to it to say 'first day at school' - but as my son keeps saying he's going to big school, i settled on that. I've also paper pieced the numbers paper onto the front of the notebook and covered the pencil with some of the pink flowery paper too.

Hi,
Well the last couple of days have been so quiet and peaceful, but that is all going to end tonight when the hurricane (4 year old) son and OH reappear - although i think Whisper has gone on strike today, as yesterday i took her on a 3 hour walk ( i didn't mean to, but we got caught in an almighty downpour for 20 mins and had to shelter under some trees) and this morning when i took her out, she spent the whole walk 3 paces behind me !!!

For todays card i've used an image that was sent to me and one i have been meaning to use for a while, but never got round to it, but as there are a couple of 'Water It' challenges around, it gave me a good excuse. I've also finally cut into some fabby DCWV papers - Linen Closet that i bought a couple of months ago and all i've done since is stroke them !!!

Hi,

Boo Hiss OH has fixed hoover, so i had to do some domestic duties, but on the plus side OH and son are driving to Yorkshire tonight (was going to go earlier, but as the M25 was shut it didn't seem worth it), as OH's team are in the Challenge Cup (Rugby League) semi final tomorrow and they are not coming back till Monday night, as OH has a meeting in Sunderland on Monday - yipee, therefore i can catch up with a couple of challenges.

The stamp i've used today i have been after for a while as my lovely friend Ann kept sending me Christmas cards with him on. I don't normally do white cards, as i always want to add colour to them !!, i have embossed and punched (small snowflakes strip) onto pearlescent white card and the large snowflakes - i used white glitter card. I covered the image with Stampin Up - heat & stick powder, then dazzling diamonds to enable it to keep up with the bling of the card.

Hi,
Gee it's hot here today and i've managed to snap the belt on my hoover, so until my OH fixes it, no domestic duties for me - yipee !!! Yesterday i took son for his first lesson in golf !!, yes they do them for 4 year olds and he absolutely loved it and wants to do it again, but next time with Daddy, so that lets me off the hook taking him again !!, we also went to see 'Cars 2' which was alright, but i personally wasn't keen on wearing the 3D glasses !!

The image i've used today is in a set 'Hello Friend' which i chose when i won the Flicker / Penny Black challenge and thought it was about time i used it, plus it makes a great 'Monochrome' card, as there are a couple of those around at the moment. The papers i've used are so old they are a set of 'Papermania' ones and the car one, goodness knows where i picked that up from.

Hi,
I went to M & S on thursday night for a nose round Per Una, as i had some vouchers to use - i found a dress i rather liked, it was £55 reduced to £35, then i saw a black S on the label and i asked the assistant what it meant and she said it could not be brought back as it was at a rock bottom price, but i didn't think £35 was !!, so i held on to it, but found another dress i liked which was £39.50, but they didn't have it in my size, so went to the ordering desk, the dress was only available to order in long, so i didn't bother as i'm short !!, whilst there i asked the girl about the reduced dress, she checked the price and it was actually £19, which i thought that's better, then she said hang on a minute, i'll just check and went out the back - when she came back she said it was actually £6 and with that i nearly fell over with shock - of course after i had paid for it !!! and here it is :

Now for more important things !!, my card for today - I have used for a change a 'Happy Hopper' stamp that i was lucky enough to buy in America at a Hobby Lobby, just over 2 years ago for $3.23 and i've never used it, but when i saw House Mouse were celebrating 100 Challenges and a blog hop, i thought i would use it to join in and i also love using buttons and corners and i don't seem to use them enough, so it gave me a good excuse to. I used Glitter Glue on the hat, the candles and frosting - not sure if photo has picked it up.

Hi,

This is a quick posting, as i need to do domestic duties today at some point !!! 4 year old son is loving his summer holidays so far - on Monday was Winkworth Arboretum, yesterday was Horsham Park, as there was a free Punch and Judy show on and my friend and her son joined us and the boys went on their scooters, which they thought was great fun, tomorrow is a farm activity centre, that we have membership for.

The stamp i've used today, is one that took me a while to get hold of, but i wanted as it's such a cutie and i've teamed it with some fabby 'Basic Grey' papers and fibres to match, that again are difficult to get hold of 'Figgy'. I've also used my fabby Martha Stewart punch 'Holly'.

Hi,

Thank goodness the weather has improved, as it's the start of the school holidays - the next 6 weeks are looking rather busy for son and i, as we are members of RHS, National Trust and RSPB and you can always rely on these fabby organisations to lay on loads of good things for the kids - starting with tomorrow when we are going to an Arboretum, where a CBeebies programme is going to be.

For todays card i've used a very old PB stamp from 1995, it's that early that the code is 657H !!, i picked it as it makes a great childs birthday card and as one of son's friends is going to be 4 soon, it was ideal. I so love the papers i've used to : Echo Park - Little Boy, as they are so versatile and easy for boys, especially as they are double sided and a couple of them have the page divided into 4, so you get 6x6 designs, brilliant.

Hi,

Oh what a shame they are only 'Snowmen', if only the snow was missing !!!, ooo what am i like, it must be the fact that i'm in a silly / good mood as i've managed to track down my elusive best friend !!, i love her to bits, but she does have a habit of moving house (when she gets round to it, she does finally contact me !), but this time it was countries !! - now our holiday plans for next year have changed from America to Australia :-)

Hi,

Gee Penny Black does come up with some weird names for stamps sometimes - don't you think ??, i was shocked when i found out the name of this one, as my lovely friend Janice had sent me this image.

For this card i have used the fabby papers i was fortunate enough to win in the lovely Jacque's blog candy and i'm also sending this card to a sick child in hospital as part of Post Pals, as you never know what's round the corner and if by a small chance i can cheer somebody up, then i will.
This card also gave me a good excuse to play with my new Hero Arts stamp - 'Hello Flags' and also the fabby Bakers Twine.

Seeing Spots !!

Hi,
Yesterday I took 4 year old son to a dinosaur exhibiton and he also went for his first ride on a bus !!, i would use the bus more, but we live in a village and they are once an hour and it takes an hour to get to Brighton and you can guarantee son would want a toilet stop in that time !!!

For todays card, i think i might make these as the theme for son's thank you cards - as i like to come up with a new idea every year. Firstly i stamped them using white versacolor and i then versamarked them, before pouring clear embossing powder and heating and stuck them on to a card, i had embossed with a CB folder 'Spot and Dots', I thought also i could use up some of my scraps.

Hi,
Well has anybody told the weather that it's July ??, on Saturday here it rained non-stop till about 3pm and yesterday we put on our wet weather gear - oh we did looking fetching !!!, not !! and went to Singleton for their 'Rare Breeds Show' and it was great, when it wasn't raining !!

On Saturday i went to my lovely friend Clair's (well her mum's house) for a day of making luxury cards, if you want to see the full set of 10, go and check them out - we had a fabby day there were 16 of us and i completed 2 cards, completed another 5 last night and the others are just colouring in, but we just ran out of time, plus my brain was a bit fraggled after nearly 8 hours of crafting !!! Ok, i must leave myself a note, not to make cards when i am busy, as i entered the 'Wild Orchid Challenge' and 1 of the rules was to only enter another 2 challenges !! and i entered 4, so i was disqualified - serves me right, i won't do that again.

Todays card is using an image from a fabby PB Transparent Set 'Wonderful Day' and i've combined it with my favourite companys papers and used something, which i don't use very often a 'Doily', but i'm loving the effect, so will use them more, i also distressed the doily and image.

This is a quick post today, as i'm really busy today, meeting other half for lunch, then taking son to a birthday party and i was supposed to do the hoovering yesterday and made a card instead - how naughty is that !!!

A couple of weeks ago the lovely Jacques asked if we could make a card for a charity 'Send A Smile', but as i live in the UK, i said i would send some to 'Post Pals', so this is where this card is going. Hi,
I'm back - sorry for missing but we went on holiday to North Yorkshire for a week with Whisper and then once back and i've been busy with 4 year old son's inductions for school (he starts in September), washing clothes and general getting back to normal things !!! and this week is not much better either, as it seems to be full of parties for son !!!, so this may be the only card i get round to making this week.

With the image i've used today my lovely friend Janice had sent me a couple of images, but i decided what i wanted to do with it, would mean buying it, so i did in the sales and am glad i did, as i think it's going to be very versatile ( i versamarked the snowflake, then added silver embossing powder & heated it). I wanted to also use my MS snowflake round the corner punches to make the edge of the card, for a different effect.

Well today at the moment looks a little brighter - but i wonder how long it will last !!!

Ooo how i love my Penny Blacks but when I have to choose a stamp / image, when the challenge is so open like the Penny Black Saturday Friends challenge of 'Pesky Critters', i get all panicky, as i never know what to pick, then whilst checking other challenges i found a couple for 'Butterflies' and decided on 'Water Lily Skiing' - also it gave me a chance to play with the fabby new papers i bought in 'Crafty Emma's' sale by DCWV, which are aptly named 'The Blossoms & Butterflies Stack' and although these are 2 colours i wouldn't normally put together, i'm pleased with how it has turned out.

I know we've had a dry spell and we need the rain, but after the 3rd time of getting wet in a week, it's now starting to wear a little thin !!, today we decided we would clean out our conservatory and guess what we've had a couple of downpours and now OH says we would be silly to put stuff outside incase it rains again !!! - hence why i'm now uploading a card, oh well there is always a silver lining somewhere !!

Hi,

Wow, what an amazing week :
1) I have finally won a Penny Black related challenge and i'm still so chuffed and pleased, i don't think i've come back to earth yet - i won it for Sunshine Hedge and i won it at Penny Black Circle for fancy folds.
2) We all went for a day out yesterday at Chessington World Of Adventure - 4 year old son and his best friend, her mum and brother, myself and my OH and we all had a great time
3) I got a new 'Sexy' (well that's what OH says !!) haircut - i usually go to the hairdressers and hate what they do with my hair, but i went to a new hairdressers and i just love what Dean did with it.

Toot The Flute

Hi,

Firstly i would like to say a huge Congratulations to Jenson Button for wining yesterdays 5 hour Grand Prix, gee it's so nice to see somebody else wining for a change (sorry F1 is a passion of mine and Jenson is my 4 year olds favourite driver). During the day we had been at Dunsfold Park (home of Top Gear), in the rain at a very worthy fun day raising money for Surrey / Sussex Air Ambulance and son absolutely loved sitting on a police motorbike, looking in the helicopter, and doing the STIG simulator ride of a Bugatti Veyron.

After yesterdays card that took me about 3 days to put together, i decided todays would be a lot less complicated !! Hi

Ok i'm officially shattered after yesterday ! walked Whisper for an hour, then a Zumba class and in the afternoon 2 hours of gardening - gee by the time i got to bed last night i didn't know what bit of me ached the most !!

Hi,
Gee what a day, i took Whisper for a walk trying to dodge the heavy showers !!

The reasoning behind todays card - OH saw on facebook that Lucia who works in his companys Eurocentre in Prague had, had a boy and asked me on Tuesday for a card ? (as i had met her a couple of times and she had bought our son a pressie, when he was born, i said yes), well i didn't have one suitable, so yesterday i went to The Glitter Pot to get some white card and card candy for my Canadian crafty penpal and found this cutie of a stamp, which i thought would be ideal - the wording is nothing to do with me, OH decided he liked 'Small Wonder' instead of 'Congratulations' !!

Hi,
Well at the moment here, it's sunny, but that could change !!! I'm having a me day today - making cards this morning and then this afternoon i'm having a massage.

When i read the challenge for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Friends was 'Doodlebug !' - i got all excited as Doodlebug is one of my favourite papers, then i read further down and the challenge was actually about doing some doodling, not quite the same but hey ho - i've still managed to find some fabby Doodlebug papers to use !!! The stamp i'm using is 1 i couldn't resist from the lovely Dick at PB Stamps - i think it's the Dog version of the cat thats got the cream !!!, what do you think ?? I've made this card for our 4 year old to give to my OH.

Hi,

Well it's gorgeous here at the moment, although a tad windy. We are taking son to a Heavy Horse Show tomorrow, which should be good fun and it's supposed to be slightly cooler too.

For todays card i decided to dust off my Tim Holtz Gadget Gears and combine them with a fabby Cuttlebug Folder - Clocks, which i embossed onto co-ordinations paper, then lightly sanded it - i've used a 99p stamp from The Glitter Pot to make the bus tickets - that way i could stamp my own saying rather than a pre printed one.

Hi,

Well it's a funny sort of day here today, as 1 minute it's raining and the next it's sunny, how weird is that !! It was our villages Country Fair yesterday and i was going to take son to the story telling and puppet show, but he decided as he had so much excitement (and also really tired) on Sunday at the Rugby, that he decided he wanted to have a rest day, helping his Dad to finish painting the kitchen !!

As promised todays card is very different in colour from the last few cards i've made !!! I decided i would use my Lacey Circle Nesties (that i treated myself too, for my birthday) and a cutie of an image i've used a Cuttlebug embossing folders and i embossed on to co-ordination card, that i lightly sanded afterwards. I'm no Scottish expert, and i'm sure my lovely friends Ann and Janice will put me wise otherwise if i'm wrong - but i'm sure with the criss cross ribbon over the blue, it looks like the St Andrews Flag ???

Hi,

I hope you are all enjoying your Bank Holiday Weekend ?, i am, yesterday i did my first ever Zumba class and boy do my sides ache today !!!, OH and son have gone to Twickenham to watch England V The Barbarians, so Whisper and i are home alone playing and watching the F1 from Monaco - it feels really weird watching it, as whilst we were on the cruise we got to walk the circuit (as they had been starting to set it up) and also 6 years ago OH and I were there watching it for real - oh to be back there today . . . . .

I promise this is the last 'Pink' card for a while !!, but as there are lots of challenges at the moment that are either 'Girly' or 'Pink', it seemed a shame not to join in !!, also i needed a card for son's best friends birthday and as she does ballet and also has 2 rabbits (though they are not white, they are black!!, but the thought was there), i thought it would be ideal.

Well what a weird day, we have had today 1 minute it's chucking it down with rain and the next it's lovely and sunny !!! Hi,
This is going to be a quick post today, as it's already 3.30pm and i still haven't done any hoovering or dusting yet !!!. OK i can't work this out - i'm logged into my blog, but my front cover is not showing all the titles and i'm also unable to leave comments on some blogs !!!, weird or what, and i can't log out either - anyone having the same problem ?

After the last card i made, which was very masculine, i decided today i would make a really girly, sparkly card using some papers and cuttlebug folder that i recently purchased and an image, that i much prefer without the balloons !! I have gone round the edges of the Bazzill Bling, with Stickles. Ooo don't you just love cupcake / muffins - i do, it's just a shame i can't eat them as i'm allergic to eggs.

Hi,

On Saturday we met up with son's best friend and her family and we went to see 'Shaun The Sheeps Big Show' - wow if any of you have a young family like me or have grandchildren take them, as it was absolutely brilliant, at some points i laughed so much i cried - it was basically adults dressed in animal outfits dancing to well know music - including Saturday Night Fever, Bolero (Torvill and Deans take on it) and Dirty Dancing, and believe you me i will never look at these famous songs the same again !!!

For today card i chose an image i've had a while and never got round to using it and i've decided after a year of blogging (look out for some blog candy coming) and 135 Wooden and Slapstick (and that doesn't include Christmas or Transparent Sets) Penny Blacks, i've decided to put myself forward to be on the Design Team for Penny Black At Allsorts, i don't know if i'm good enough, but at least i thought i would give it a go. I decided to paper piece his trousers with some left over paper from the second circle and i've used my 'Go Kreate' Scalloped / Plain Circles as they are bigger than the Nesties.

Hi,

Wow, i turned on my computer yesterday to find so many lovely people had left me comments for my first CAS card, thank you so much, it's very much appreciated.

Well i think i've finally caught up with the washing (well i must confess i did do 2 loads on the ship, well you have to really, when you have a 4 year old) and we came back to reality with a bump yesterday !!, firstly 4 year old locked himself in the bathroom at 8.20am - so OH had to take the door handles off, all before he took son to pre-school and went to work himself, then last night was a meeting to get the pack, so son can go to school in September, i didn't go, as we couldn't get a babysitter - but OH said he got some strange looks from people, as they thought he was a single parent !!!

The stamp i've used for todays card i treated myself too at Christmas from the lovely Dick at PB Stamps ( gee for a PB lover like me, his website is seriously dangerous !!!) and it's one of the very early stamps that PB produced as it's number is : 321F. I decided i would also get my Tim Holtz distressing tool and ink pad out too, as the papers have a faded look to them and i thought it would add to it.

Hi,

Well i'm back - yipee, my internet problems were in fact that i have been cruising round the Med for 2 weeks and P&O wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount to log on, so sorry and i missed you all so much.
We went to Barcelona, Monaco, Rome and Valencia - which were all fabby, Cadiz and Gibralter i could take or leave and we didn't get off the ship in Florence, as we went there last year. The cruise was good, but the childrens facilities on board (besides the kids club, which is holding it together), left a little to be desired even though the 'Ventura' is supposed to be a family friendly ship !!!!

Todays card is so out of my comfort zone and something i have not tried before, but i thought i would give it a whirl and i like what i have come up with, but it is my second attempt and i've used smooth card, where normally i would use Papermill Linen card, as i thought it would a better effect. I've also used a much neglected stamp that i have had for about 18 months, i bought it as i had used it to make a card at The Glitter Pot and i've never used it since.

Hi,
Well it was another rush to the vets for poor Whisper this morning - this time she has been nibbling her bottom and when OH looked at it, it was red and inflamed, then this morning she wasn't eating her food and her ears and face were hot - she had blocked glands, so once the vet had cleared her out and gave her some anti-biotics she is well on the road to recovery, yipee.
This is my lasting posting for a while, as i'm having some internet issues, hopefully they will be fixed soon.

The image i've used today is one i've had for about a year and have never been brave enough before today to colour it in - probably because i use Twinkling H20's and not something like pro-markers, where you can blend easier.

Well we can't fault the weather at the moment and would you believe it, i have a cold !! - i'm taking son off to make some Easter Activities with some of his friends.

Hi,

Well all the units are in and i have a working sink and washing machine - but the oven is not being connected until Tuesday as the original ones glass blew and a new one had to be delivered, the tiler is coming tomorrow, so by mid week i will be able to cook something - yipee, although like today it's been fabby not having to cook and just get on with making a card !!!

As i'm behind on my Christmas card making this year and as ABC Christmas were running a fabby challenge idea and tutorial, i just couldn't resist it and i so loved the idea i'm definetly going to use it again, as for starters it saved me doing a lot of colouring in and sometimes as i use Twinkling H2O's it does take a littel time.

Hi,

Well i have half a kitchen - all the units and washing machine, oven, sink will all be in and working by Thursday night, then next Monday the tiler is coming in to do the wall and floor tiles and then i will post some photos to show you what it looks like - in the meantime it's microwave meals and eating out !!!

Shopping at 'Gunwharf Quay' was very successful and i forgot that the last time i went shopping with my friend Jane to a 'Hobbs' i managed to spend £300 (but that was 7 years ago), she persuaded me to buy a gorgeous linen dress in black, cream, purple and brown and i must admit it does look rather nice on, this time the cost was only £59, thank goodness.

Todays card is all about 'Flowers and Yellow' - the stamp i've used i must confess i've only used once before !! i couldn't find a sketch, i liked, so i thought i would go with a different fold card instead. I've also used my new punch, the one i have been promising myself for a long time 'Cherish' and it's gorgeous - i might have to add another photo as the true colours of the image, the distressing and the stitching has not come out.

Christmas Fairy

Hi,
I had a lovely day yesterday OH took me to 'Giraffe' for lunch with 4 year old son - although son could have been a little better behaved, but i think Mummy got the backlash from a little boy who went to a farm on Tuesday with his nursery friends and was very excited and tired !!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME - i would just like to say a big thank you to all my lovely crafty buddies for all my cards and pressies. Hi,

I hope you all had a great 'Mother's Day', for those that are Mum's - mine was a bit weird as it was also my OH's birthday that day !! - as for presents OH doesn't buy me anything from son, as one year he bought me plastic toot, that i told him don't waste your money in future, - but i did think son's nursery would get son to make something - even a card, but NO, i got absolutely nothing from his nursery, and to say i was really upset, is an understatement - the nurseries response is we can't make him do anything, he doesn't want to do !!

Hi,

The most fantastic bit about the clocks going forward is the fact that i can eat my dinner, then take Whisper out and get back before it gets dark,yipee - which means i'm not chasing my tail all the time and if son and i don't want to come home a bit later we can, as we are not rushing home now to walk Whisper !!

As 2 of my favourite challenges this week are based around 'Recycling' - it gave me a chance to use up an old lolly stick !! (as we are emptying freezer at the moment, in readiness for a new one, once kitchen has been installed in a couple of weeks) - i've used it as the arm (covered in snowflake paper), so you can pull it up to reveal the sentiment - photo will explain better. It also gave me a good excuse to make another Christmas card, as i'm a little behind at the moment, on my plan to make 1 card a week !!

Hi,

I think my cough is hopefully starting to get better - as i've been hacking for the last 3 nights !!! Whisper's paw is getting better, let's hope it stays like that this time and this afternoon i've cleared out the conservatory in readiness for my our kitchen to be delivered on Friday - it's not being installed until the 11th April, then the fun will start !!!

It's Your Day

Hi,

Thank you for all of your kind comments about my left eye - good news it's ok and bar alittle bit of brown in the corner, you would never know anything had happened, i did keep my sunglasses on all last week though, especially as my eye was a bit more sensitive than normal.
Had to take Whisper back to vets on Friday (another £60) as her paw is not good again, not as bad as last time, but we weren't happy about it, hopefully another course of anti-biotics will nip it in the bud this time.
I now have a hacking cough that kept both myself and OH awake last night and gave me a thumping headache this morning - so i'm not popular at the moment !!!

With todays card i thought i would try a step card and fortunately for me the lovely Heather had a tutorial on her blog. I also wanted to use a stamp that i've had for a while and never used and it's the orginal wooden one (I have put glossy accents on all of the bubbles), as i find the one on the transparent set 'Bubbly' is just far too small, it also gave a good excuse to use the lovely My Minds Eye - Penny Lane glittery papers.

Spring Joy

Hi,

Ok i'm officially a disaster area !!! - on Monday son wanted scrambled egg on toast for lunch, so i put the egg in a bowl and put in microwave, i got it out went to put a fork in it to fluff it up and it exploded in my face - hurting my left eye lid and underneath, i phoned OH who came home from work with an Aloe Vera plant - I put 2 leaves on my face and it was a miracle it took all the heat away and fortunately i have not blistered - but all son could say was 'Mummy why have you got a plant on your face and why can't i go to the farm' - 4 year olds for you !!!

I must confess this is not a stamp i have, i was lucky enough that a friend of mine sent me some images to play with - as there was a challenge at the moment using 'Green, Yellow and or Pink' and i had some fabby Stampin Up papers that were just those colours, i thought i would join in and also this card will be going to 'Martins House Hospice' in Leeds, as somebody on Docrafts wanted some Easter cards, and as i don't send any i thought this would be a very worthy thing to do.

Spring Friends

Hi,

Whisper is well and truly better now, thank goodness - we knew she was getting better by Wednesday, as she spat out her anti-biotic tablet and pulled the stuffing out of her favourite ball !!!
I didn't manage to get my dinner out on Wednesday, as i forgot the tiler was coming round to price up our kitchen, as we are having a new one in a couple of weeks. OH had a good time at the Cheltenham races, he was on his way to wining £120,000 (as he had done a 1st and 2nd placed accumalator), when his horse fell at the last fence and came in 4th - how gutted were we !!, as i was thinking great pay off some of the mortgage, but he was thinking 'Aston Martin' - i think he's been watching too much 'Top Gear' !!!, so probably good job he didn't win.

My lovely friend Susan over on Docrafts has set the challenge an Easter card with flowers and ribbon and as i hadn't entered her last challenge, i thought i had better enter this one. I've also made a little card again and I've used the fabby Doodlebug papers - Petit Print again, sorry, but i just love them so much and as they are only 79p for a double sided 12x12 sheet, i think they are really good value. This card is also going to Martins House Hospice in Leeds, as a lady on Docrafts requested Easter cards to sell and give the children.

Hi,

As i'm unable to give Whisper her normal hour walk round the river bank, i decided to join the health walk in my village this morning and i thoroughly enjoyed it - maybe when son goes to school in Septemenber i will do it more. Ok i'm just debating about dinner tomorrow, as OH has another jolly (corporate event) on - this time it's Cheltenham Races, so i may take son out for lunch at Zizzis - well whilst the cats away the mices need to play, don't they !!!

As there are a few Men's challenges around this week and the fact that i needed to make 1 more card for the troops in Afgahanistan to send off in April for Father's Day - it gave me an ideal opportunity, i also used some fabby papers that i bought to make men's cards.

Hi,

For all of you that have been asking - Whisper is starting to feel a little better although we still have to drive her to the field and she will not wear a sock, to help in the healing process !!!

I really like the challenge Oldie But A Goodie, as it makes me use stamps that i've had for a while !!, but i nearly didn't enter this weeks as it's for a 'Baby', until i got an e-mail from a lovely friend of ours in Sydney, Oz to say she was pregnant, so it gave me a good excuse to use a stamp that i bought after a class with the lovely 'Francoise Read' (she designed the stamp too). I got the inspiration for the style of card from the very talented Vicky who made me sit up and think about the nestie shapes i have and don't use very often - thanks hun.

Spring Air

Hi,

We had to do an emergency visit to the vets on Friday, as Whisper has managed to take some of the skin of off 1 of her pads, so vet has given us some anitibiotics and told us to give her easy walks for a week or two - so at the moment i have a 3 legged dog - until she sees a crow in the field, then she sets off like a greyhound and comes back limping !!!

I'm absolutely shattered today, but i'm grabbing 5 mins of me time to upload my card that i made yesterday, but couldn't photograph till this morning !!! OH got a corporate invite to go to Twickenham to see England v Scotland at rugby and i couldn't really say No, as he lets me go cardmaking whenever i want to !!!, so son and i left home went to an activity farm, then lunch in a pub and then a mini steam train at a garden centre, and now we have just walked Whisper round the field !!!

As there are quite a few 'Green' challenges around at the moment i thought i would participate in them and also i must admit, use up some scraps of paper that were left over from a card i made at The Glitter Pot about 6 weeks ago - gee it's amazing what you can make with not alot - i must admit though the card is only about 4.5 inches square, so alot smaller than i would normally make, but then the image is very small too - it is actually a wooden stamp!!, but you'd swear it was off of a transparent set, it's that small !!!

Hi,

I'm really shattered today, as all i seem to have done is drive 4 year old son round the Sussex countryside today !!! - we ended up at an activity farm place and didn't get home till 5.30pm, so i'm quickly going to upload today' card and then have some well deserved chilling out time.

Today card has caused me several headaches !!! - i found a fabby circle step card on someone's blog and in theory it looked fabby and easy - in practice the paper copy ended up in the bin !!!, anyway i decided to do a twist on a gate fold card that i had seen on 1 of the several You Tube videos i watched yesterday !!! - where by the image and frame are separate from each other and i love how it has turned out - i will persevere with a step card, so watch this space.

Sorry i've been a bit awol for the last week, only i did a 2nd hand childrens sale on Saturday and we decided to try and declutter our house and sell some of sons old toys - so we spent most of last week sorting through, cleaning and pricing them up - fortunately we did really well and have earnt enough money to pay for son's new bike, so it was worth it.

Todays card is in colours i don't normally put together - Silver and White, my inital inspiration was some ribbon i bought from Tescos !! and some silver snowflake brads i had - once i found the fabby sketch and i was off - including having a play with my new PB 'Snow Scroll' stamp that i got at the NEC last year and also the Papermania Christmas strip embossing folders i bought in The Glitter Pot sale for 75p !!!

It's so cold here, is it just generally very cold throughout the country ??

I was thinking of using this stamp for the Penny Black Saturdays Friend - Men's Cards Challenge last week, but in the end decided on 'Scooter Dog', but after seeing a couple of challenges this week for 'Paper Piecing' i'm glad i hadn't, as this image blends very well to it - i have Paper Pieced' the waistcoat, the scarf round his neck and his trousers. The papers i have used i bought at a show last year and have been itching to use them, i originally bought them as one of them has a row of frogs on it, but it proved to big for the centre strip of the card :-( !!

My OH and i had a very rare night out on Friday, a friend of ours had son overnight and we went to see 'The Kings Speech' and it was fabby and i'm sorry any american friends watching, but if somebody in the cast doesn't get an oscar tonight it will be a travisity - update YIPEE Colin Firth got the Oscar along with 3 others including Best Picture and Best Director, so well deserved.

My card today reminds me of when i was a little girl and my mum made my brother and i bonnets for an Easter parade and we both won !!! (we were only 5 and 6 at the time). The stamp i'm using is one that i've had for about 9 months and never used, but with so many spring challenges around at the moment, i thought it was apt.

Hi,

Well it's nice to say for a change that it is lovely and sunny here today, yipee. Yesterday i took son to meet the fabulous childrens author Emily Gravett - she's written some amazing childrens books, but before that i decided to do a balancing act with 3 cups of coffee and 1 of them decided to spill down my front, i'm ok and a pack of ice and lavendar oil saved me fortunately from a nasty burn.

The image i'm using today is one that i purchased from the lovely Dick at PB Stamps just before Xmas, and i also couldn't resist the fabby Doodlebug papers i found in The Glitter Pot !!! I swear i'm getting mean in my old age !! - the sketch required something in the middle of the ribbon and as i didn't have a buckle, i went for the next best thing a ribbon brad coloured brown with a permanent marker and if i say so myself i think it looks rather good too.
