The Pink Squadron

Hi,

Well we had a very lovely weekend - on Saturday morning we went to the local RSPB to walk Whisper and count birds for H's school project, then in the evening my friend and i went to The Hawth, Crawley to see 'Birdsong' and it was great, then yesterday we went to 'Chesworth Farm' in Horsham for crafty activities, a nature trail and a Police search dog was practicing his finding skills, by looking for lost children, which H thought was great.

As there are a few Monochrome and Pink Challenges around at the moment, i thought i would dust off a stamp and papers, i've had for a while, the papers are Dovecraft - 'Back To Basics', Sentiment (originally said Hugs And Kisses, but as it was a pig image, i changed it to Hogs And Kisses) 'Cuddly Buddly', Die Memory Box 'Corner Bow', Ribbon The Ribbon Girls - Seam Binding, Pearls are from stash.

Today's Card And Challenges :

Thinking Of You

Hi,

Thank you for all your kind / giggle messages about my disastrous Friday - fortunately my bruise is going down. When i found out i had a dairy allergy, i immediately stopped eating and drinking all dairy - but was still getting really bad migraines and i couldn't work out why ?, then i read the contents of my drugs and found they all contained 'Lactose', so after a bit of a battle, they have agreed to write me a prescription for the 'Folic Acid Liquid' today (they didn't like it, as it's apparently expensive, but i only take 5mg a week though), so hopefully my migraines will improve, yipee.

Today's stamp is very old in fact 1996 and it's number is 579K - and although they have now produced it as a slapstick version - they made it missing the window frame and bird ?? and to be honest, i still prefer the wooden version.  The papers are My Mind's Eye - 'Fine And Dandy / Tickled Pink', Flowers - 'Wild Orchid Craft', Ribbon and Buttons - 'The Ribbon Girls', Sentiment - 'LOTV', Punched Edge - MS - 'Traditional Scallop'.

Today's Card And Challenges :

Sweet Stampin'  - where the Challenge is 'Buttons, Bows And Polka Dots'

Oldie But A Goodie - where the Challenge is 'Make It Girly' - my oldie is the stamp and papers

Allsorts - where Challenge No: 203 is 'A Passion For Flowers'

Penny Black At Allsorts - where the Challenge is 'Blossoms And Bows'

Pretty Little Ribbon Shop  - where Challenge No: 21 is 'Spring Is In The Air'

Addicted To Stamps - where Challenge No: 54 is 'Happy Birthday Card, Please Add A Birthday Sentiment' - to celebrate their 2nd Birthday.

I picked the flag paper for the polka dots on it

Riding My Bike

Hi,

Well i was officially a disaster zone yesterday i got up around 6am, had breakfast, got H's lunch ready and decided i would have a shower at 7.45am, as i was walking up the stairs i slipped on something and banged the top half of my thigh ( i now have a bruise the size of a saucer), after my shower i thought i had better dry my hair and as i leaned down to plug the hairdryer in i banged my cheek on the wooden laundry basket, then on the way to school, i have to let Whisper do her business on an open grassed area, as she won't do it in the garden and a bird pooped on my head !!, so after dropping H off i then had to go home and rewash my hair !!

I wanted to enter the Challenge over at Papertake Weekly, to use only 1 DP, but was unsure of what paper to use, so today i showed H and Alan a few and they both decided on this 1, DCWV - 'Text Prints' (a very old pack), the image is LOTV - 'Riding My Bike', the notebook border die is from 'Whiff Of Joy and one i treated myself to (after seeing it on the lovely Vicky's blog and thought it would be ideal for men's cards), from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, when i was fortunate enough to win a voucher from them a couple of weeks ago, the tag is LOTV, but the sentiment is 'Paula Pascal', Candy Dots - 'Peppermints' and Distressed ink 'Tumbled Glass'.

Today's Challenges And Card :

Papertake Weekly - where the Challenge is 'One Paper Taker :-)'

Crafty Catz  - where Challenge No: 179 is 'This One's For The Boy's'

Daisy Swing

Hi,

Firstly i would like to say thank you for all the lovely comments i received about Sandra's card and i have decided to send it to her daughter Jen and her family.

The weekend had strange weather -Saturday morning we woke up to spring sunshine, H and I walked Whisper round the riverbank, then in the afternoon the rain came lashing down and i took H to 'Leechpool Woods' in Horsham for an afternoon of den building and nature trails with his friend Chloe and her church and by the end of it i was wet down to my underwear !!, then on Sunday the weather was glorious, so we went to South Lodge Hotel (very 5 *) for their open day, where we met up with my friend Jackie and her son Evan, so H was in his element - they had laid on a disco, messy monsters, bouncy castle and little kickers.

As there were a couple of Spring Challenges around i decided to hunt out some old K & Company - Tim Coffey papers, the plainer one has been embossed with CB - 'Daisy Pattern', Pearls are 'The Hobby House', Ribbon 'Stampin Up', Sentiments 'LOTV', Flowers 'Wild Orchid Crafts', Punched Edge MS - 'Doily Lace', Leaves Sizzix - 'Flowers, Leaves And Branches'

Merci Bouquet !

Hi,

I would like today's post to be in memory of a lovely friend and crafter - Sandra / Dec O Cards, who sadly passed away last Saturday - i first met Sandra on a very cold Saturday morning in Blackpool waiting with her daughter Jen (Jenbob) outside a B&B waiting for the others to reappear from their early morning jaunt to a craft shop! (we were on a craft retreat), i was really nervous and apprehensive, as i had never been on anything like this before and i shouldn't have worried, as within a couple of minutes we were laughing and chatting and they both wanted to also meet Alan and Harrison too - to say i had the best time ever that weekend was an understatement, a couple of times after that Alan drove me from Yorkshire to Warrington so i could see Sandra, Jen and the others again for a crafty day.

When i was first starting out crafting and running challenges (usually PB ones) over on Docrafts - i always remember Sandra as a person i could rely on to take over a challenge from me, if i couldn't find anyone else and bless her she was always one of the first people to put their name down to enter the challenge too.

As you can imagine this has been a very difficult card to make - i also don't do sympathy cards (there is a reason and some of you know already), but i also remember Sandra loved her cat and PB's (i actually got into them on that craft retreat, as the lovely Evelyn bought a load for us all to stamp up !!), the papers are Bo Bunny - 'Isabella - (that the lovely Louise persuaded me to buy last Saturday at The Craft Barn and i'm so glad she did, as if you look closely on the roses paper is say's 'You Are Beautiful' and Sandra definetly was), the punched edge is MS - 'Cherish', Punched Flowers - 'EK Success', Cream Pearls - 'The Hobby House', Pink Pearls - 'Habico', Sentiment - PB.

Today's Card And Challenges :

Papertake Weekly - where the Challenge is 'Bingo' - i went for Punches, Free (Image), Ribbon

Hi,

Well i've survived the first week of the Easter hols - but it has seemed really long this time, i think it's because although we have had days out, it's been so cold, it's actually felt like the Christmas hols !!

I would just like to thank the following people, for the fabby Birthday cards they sent me : Aunty SueChristine / TillySandieJaniceKay and Ann.  I was also fortunate to win the lovely Teresa's candy and i also won a prize on the Penny Black Saturday Friends Challenge for Wooly Dames - i spent the day with the lovely Louise (whom i met at a craft class at The Glitter Pot) and we went to The Craft Barn, as it had moved to a new location, where i finally got to meet the very talented Kay Carley.

I bought the image and papers the other week, when LOTV had 10% off and as there are a few Kraft challenges around, i thought i would have a play, by stamping on kraft and paper piecing the flower with the papers, which are 'Country Lady', i have gone round all the edges with faux stitching - i hope you can see it, the die is Die-namics - 'Faux Crochet Border', sentiment - LOTV, cream lace - 'The Ribbon Girls'.
