All Wrapped Up

Hi,

Have you all been watching the Olympics ?, i didn't think i would get into it, but i have - saying that though i do like the swimming and sailing and i have got into bits of the gymnastics and 3 day eventing.  Well the school hols are ticking by and i don't know how many more cards i will get made in the next week, as i'm running around trying to sort out lots of things including paint and wallpaper in readiness for our lounge to be decorated.

Today's card is using the only Xmas LOTV stamp i have and i wanted to do her in colours i don't normally touch for an Xmas card !!, but Echo Park 'Dots And Stripes Christmas Collection' made it really easy, i didn't want to do snowflakes in a tone of brown, so i opted instead for Poinsettias using the Marianne D Creatables that i bought last year and never got round to using them. The sentiment is from a PB transparent set. The other thing i never seem to do is decorate the inside, but i have for this one.

Joy - Filled Stockings

Hi,

Well dare i say it, it's too hot !!! H had one of his friends round yesterday and i was going to take them to the local RSPB, but as it was so hot, i decided a walk in the woods with Whisper, get the  paddling pool in the garden and when they were tired a movie and an ice cream - why is the theory always better !!, they seem to bicker all day long - i think the weather got to them !!, so to shut my ears off to some of it, i decided to stamp and colour an image.

I wanted to enter the Winter Wonderland unusual colour challenge of Pink + / or Purple + Aqua + / or Green and i had the papers Squirrel used and did nearly used them, till i came across a gorgeous pack of pearlescent papers from Crafthouse 'Winter Wonderland' and some Dovecraft brads (that i seem to have had for ages), then finished it off with a tag sentiment, i think from Inkadinkadoo, but i seem to have lost the packaging for it.

Hi,

Well can you believe it, i've woken up to find the sun shinning and apparently it's going to last - yipee, as i've got loads planned for H for the next couple of weeks.

Today's image is another one that came free with a magazine and i've teamed it up with some fabby Doodlebug papers - 'True Love Assortment'.  The roses (well that's what they are supposed to be !!)  are made out of ribbon - i think i still need some practice but i don't think they are bad for a first attempt (found a tutorial on you tube), the pearl hearts and gems came from the same pack and the sentiment is from 'Sentiments 4 You'.

Hi,

Well the Olympic Torch finally hit Sussex yesterday, but i didn't bother going down to see it, as it was - yes you've guessed it Raining !!, i had a quick look on the live link and they had shut the main seafront road from Worthing to Hove, oh what joy that would have been trying to find a car parking space, as well !!

Today's image, i must confess i do not own, in fact a couple of months ago 20 LOTV images came free with a magazine and this is one of them - although i must confess i do rather like her and may have to look at buying her.  I've teamed her up with some very old Papermania 'Citrus Colossal Papers', i've distressed the image with Spun Sugar and the doily with 'Victorian Velvet', the corners are Memory Box 'Macarena Corner', with loads of pearls added, the lace is from 'Castleford' Market, Yorkshire (when i was up there visiting FIL).

Friendly Surprise

Hi,

Well what can i say about the weather !! - we even had a thunderstorm on Wednesday, today is sunny and cloudy !! I've had a busy week - H had a party on Wednesday and my phone wouldn't ring out or let me text - I'm on the Tesco network and they obviously use O2, i must confess i was a little nervous, as i was unable to get hold of Alan (he works in the city), then on Thursday we went to pick up Alan's motorbike and went to H's sports day (he did very well in the javelin (foam ones) and goal scoring), luckily the rain held off.

Today's image is one of those that makes me think of summer, sitting on a garden swing with the birds chirping around me - the papers are Basic Grey 'Porcelain', the sketch gave me a good excuse to have a play with Memory Box 'Woven Circle', the flowers and border punch are Stampin Up punches, i've distressed the image so it blends in better with the green border.

Computer Fun

Hi,

Where has all the sunshine gone ??, as i need to dry some washing !! I went to Easy Aqua yesterday and boy do i ache for not going for a couple of weeks, well that will teach me !!

For today's card i'm using an image that i don't use very often, but is great for boys / men of all ages. the papers are Echo Park 'A Boy's Life' and i have also used one of the papers to paper piece the computer screen, the sentiment tags are LOTV (the other part of my prize from The Ribbon Girls) and the brads are just from my stash.

Hi,

Well H has had a very busy weekend with 2 parties - yesterdays was ten pin bowling and today was football, he enjoyed both alot.  We bought Alan a motorbike yesterday, as he works in the city (in insurance) and it's costing him £120 a month to park at the station, but with a motorbike, you pay nothing !!!, he has done the initial  training and now has a 125.

Todays card is for H's best friends brother, who is going to be 3 on Thursday, but H and i are going to the party on Wednesday (it's a Gruffalo party) and i wanted something that was cute, but fun, and i thought as he was holding 3 balloons this image was apt.  The papers are some old 'K & Co' ones, and i have paper pieced the balloons and bow tie, the buttons are 'Papermania' and the sentiment is 'Woodware'.

Hi,

Firstly if anybody is in the Sussex area and fancies a punnet of strawberries, please pop in, as we are over run in this house with them growing in the garden, so at the moment, looking for recipes to use them all up ?? Ok this house, well Alan and I are officially muppets, as yesterday i drove my car to the mechanics and this morning i realised my handbag was still on the back seat ??, fortunately it was still there and the fact the mechanic is a friend, so Alan will be driving back up to the garage tonight to get it !! and Alan the darling drove to the station this morning with Whisper's lead on the back seat, so i had to take Whisper to school with one of H's belts as a lead !!

Today's card is very different for me, as although i have quite a few PB flowers i never seem to know what to do with them !!, well fortunately for me a couple of weeks ago on Penny Black Saturday the lovely Kath's card was CASED, but as i was away in Gloucester, i was unable to enter the challenge, so i have CASED IT today, using a stamp that i have used before in a class with the very talented Jane Gill at The Glitter Pot, at the time i loved it, but for £10, i didn't know how often i would use it, so when i popped in on Sunday, this was one of the ex-demo's and it was now £3.50, so i snapped it up.  I have teamed it up with Basic Grey 'Wisteria' papers and Ribbon (that i won) and dew drops from The Ribbon Girls'. I've also paper pieced the flower.

Missed You !

Hi,

Well there seems to be an epidemic of Chicken Pox in our village, so to take me out of the situation, i have arranged for me to go to the school reception, and someone will take H to his class in the morning and in the afternoon someone will go and fetch him for me, on a more positive note, i found out yesterday that i had won the June Challenge of The Ribbon Girls (thank you ladies) and i'm so shocked and excited and can't wait to receive my prize, so i can start playing with it.

Normal service has been resumed today, with regards to the colour !!, I'm so glad that there are a couple of 'Metal' challenges around, as it gave me a good excuse to use some of the many brads i have !! I thought i would also try out my new Memory Box grass die, that arrived on Saturday - i have seen it being used on a couple of blogs including : Vicki (a very bad influence on me, as i also bought the small banner, after seeing what she had done with it). I wanted to use some green and white twine and out of all the colours i have, i didn't have that one, so i dropped H off at his party on Sunday and drove over to The Glitter Pot (about 20 mins away), to get some and whilst there i bought 5 PB's that were ex demo stamps and were on sale from £1 - £4 and a couple were Xmas ones that i thought i was going to have to order from the USA.

Duck Noel

Hi,

Well after last weeks fun and games, hopefully this week will get back to normal !!.  H has a party this afternoon, oh joy !!, although i do have one very tired and irritable 5 year old at the moment, i think the first year of school is now starting to take it's toll on him, so roll on another 3 weeks and then he can chill and hopefully be a more 'Normal Child' !!

Although today's stamp is called 'Duck Noel', i'm thinking i should rename it 'Duck A L'Orange', as you may need sunglasses for this one !, Winter Wonderland's challenge is 'Monochromatic' and i wanted to make a card using a different colour !, i was drawn to the ducks beaks and webbed feet and thought oh orange would be good, then i remembered i had some 'My Mind's Eye - Colorful Christmas' papers with unusual colours. It also gave me a chance to play with my new (well i've had it about 3 months) 'MS - Skyland Snowflake' - I'm going to have a play with this, as you can turn it into circles, so watch this space !!
