Birthday Best

Hi,

Well what a week !!!, had a fabby weekend in the Yorkshire Dales, shame weather wasn't better.  Monday H had an inset day and i managed to prang the bumper off of my car !!, £650 worth of damage, then yesterday i went to school and found that a parent whose child has chicken pox, was bringing it into school, so that she could drop another child off - and as i have an immune deficiency illness that is not good news, so Alan is speaking to the headmaster about it and i've had a headcold since Tuesday, oh joy.

Today's stamp is another oldie, this time 1996, and the card is for one of H's friends at school, whose having a party on Sunday.  The colour combination is unusual for me, but i had a route through my papers and found these fabby MS ones (that i bought a couple of years ago in USA) and i've teamed it with an MS punch and my Hero Arts banner stamp.

A Note For You !

Hi,

Well what wonderful weather we have had for a couple of days - shame it's not going to last, as H has a long inset weekend from school, he has both Friday and Monday off, so we are driving up to Yorkshire tomorrow night, staying at Father in laws for one night, then dropping H off at Grandma's and driving with Whisper to Skipton where my OH and i have will two nights reminding ourselves, we are Sam and Alan and not just Mummy and Daddy !!!

Today's card is actually for the OH, as the other day he reminded me that this week is our anniversary of meeting each other - 8 years ago in Singapore.  The stamp is new, i bought it from a little craft shop in our village, the owner has some how managed to get hold of some old PB's - this one is dated 1999 !. I've teamed it up with Bo Bunny papers and i've used my MS punch and Woodware Heart punch too, adding some pink heart gems to the green heart.

Lazy Afternoon

Hi,

Well i hope we that those of you with Dads, were spoilt rotten on Sunday -  H and I bought my OH a box of chocolates (which H decided to find and eat on Saturday !!) and we went to The Weald And Downland Museum, where the boys did welly throwing, played pool and golf and OH drove a tractor and tasted the homemade cider - fortunately it was a lovely day.

Although today's card is for 'Father's Day' - i decided to start early for next year, as this will be one of the ones i will send to the troops.  I decided to use a stamp, that i have never used and papers i've only use once before, i thought it would look good with some kraft card and twine.  I have TRIED to also add some clouds, using my Whimsy cloud die and distressed inks and it came out ok, i think !!

Prank Call

Hi,

This is going to be a quick upload, as i should really be doing housework - boo hiss !!! Well it's good to have H back at school, i can now get on with all the things i haven't had a chance to do !!!, off to see somebody who practices in homeopathy to see if she can spring any light on my condition.

Today's stamp and papers were bought in November 2010 at the Birmingham NEC and i've never got round to using either - shame on me !!, but i thought the stamp would make a great Man's card and very apt for my darling OH who now has 2 'Blackberry' phones !!, - one for personal use and the other work and i can't stand either, as when he gets home all he does is go on them to answer e-mails, texts, find out rugby scores, or go on Facebook !!!, so this card is for him on Sunday - do you think he'll get the hint ???

Fishing !

Hi,

I know long time no card !!, to be honest before the half term i was really busy - H had a friend round for tea (the first time, since he's started school) and his mum and little brother had to come too - so i had to completely clear my dining room table of craft stuff and so it was not as easy to just make a card.  I went back to see my Rheumatoid Consultant who promptly gave me 3 more different drugs to take - including steroids, so  i wasn't overly impressed !!, they are a short term thing and hopefully i'll be off them by the end of July.  Then last week, as it was half term we rented a cottage in Gloucester - where despite the weather had a good time - H got to meet Adam Henson - the farmer off of Countryfile, as we went to his Cotswold Farm Park, he got to go to the woods where they film 'Merlin' (Puzzlewood)  and he was a 'Dragon Lord' at Warwick Castle's - Merlin Dragon Tower.

As i love doing Men's cards ( i love the non fanciness about them) and with Father's Day on Sunday, i thought i would ease myself in gently with a stamp and paper pad that i've had for a while but don't use very often, add a charm, sentiment and some twine and i had a card.

I apologise the quality of the photo, only the camera that i have only had 6 months i have managed to dent the metal bit round the lens, so now the bottom shutter won't close and Canon won't repair it under warranty  and want to charge me £199 to repair it - the amount i paid for camera in first place, so i will now be buying a new camera and not a 'Canon' one !!!
