Bunny Bouquet

Hi,

My OH and i had a very rare night out on Friday, a friend of ours had son overnight and we went to see 'The Kings Speech' and it was fabby and i'm sorry any american friends watching, but if somebody in the cast doesn't get an oscar tonight it will be a travisity - update YIPEE Colin Firth got the Oscar along with 3 others including Best Picture and Best Director, so well deserved.

My card today reminds me of when i was a little girl and my mum made my brother and i bonnets for an Easter parade and we both won !!! (we were only 5 and 6 at the time). The stamp i'm using is one that i've had for about 9 months and never used, but with so many spring challenges around at the moment, i thought it was apt.

Scooter Dog

Hi,

Well it's nice to say for a change that it is lovely and sunny here today, yipee.  Yesterday i took son to meet the fabulous childrens author Emily Gravett - she's written some amazing childrens books, but before that i decided to do a balancing act with 3 cups of coffee and 1 of them decided to spill down my front, i'm ok and a pack of ice and lavendar oil saved me fortunately from a nasty burn.

The image i'm using today is one that i purchased from the lovely Dick at PB Stamps just before Xmas, and i also couldn't resist the fabby Doodlebug papers i found in The Glitter Pot !!! I swear i'm getting mean in my old age !! - the sketch required something in the middle of the ribbon and as i didn't have a buckle, i went for the next best thing a ribbon brad coloured brown with a permanent marker and if i say so myself i think it looks rather good too.

Preparing For Christmas !!!

Hi,

We all have colds in this house, i think it's something to do with the fact we went to the 'British Wildlife Centre' in Lingfield on Sunday and it was very cold and damp there and the cold seemed to get into all of our bones :-(

After i have uploaded this card i'm going back to watch QVC to see if i can get any inspiration from the fabby Tim Holtz.

Ok todays card nearly didn't happen, as when i went to start cutting the paper yesterday i noticed that son had some how taken the plastic guard off of my Making Memories paper trimmer and as i tried to put it back it snapped in 3, so when i picked son up i had to drive over to The Glitter Pot to get a new trimmer - how unimpressed was I !!!

For todays card i wanted to do something a little different - i wanted to tell a story :

Hi,

Todays card is a little one it's only 5" square, as the stamp is so small - it looked lost on my usual size card of a 6" square. The stamp is a new one that i got from the Sir Stampalot sale as Xmas. I've used vellum on this card which is a product i don't use very often - i have paper pieced the bauble with vellum and when i did the embossed section - because it looked horrible just the vellum on pearlescent gold card i decided to emboss the vellum and white card together, before wrapping it in some sheer gold ribbon.

Pretty In Pink

Hi,

Thank you to all those who asked about son - he is starting to feel much better thanks, tomorrow will be day 5 and after that he can go back to nursery and i'm hoping to take him to a soft play on Wednesday, as he is now bored - fortunately today we went to a friends house, whose children have both had Chicken Pox.

Todays card has caused me a few headaches as i made the card, then found out the sentiment i had used was not a PB !!, disaster, so i then had to play about with it and add a new sentiment and this one definetly is PB as it's mine. I did a class at The Glitter Pot on Saturday and todays card is inspired with what we made - it also made me fall in love with my Tattered Florals, which i was struggling to even like. Shock horror also i've done something that i never do, only use a sentiment and no colouring in either.

Hi,

Found out yesterday that 4 year old son has chicken pox - oh joy, which means he will miss 2 days of nursery, as he won't be allowed back till next Wednesday,  fortunately at the moment it seems to be quite mild.

Todays card is very different for me and well out of my comfort zone - but it did give a good excuse to use a stamp that i have had for 18 months and never used (as i have never found a suitable sketch for it) - i know shame on me, but it was very reasonable as i bought it from Dick at PB stamps then had it shipped to my friend in Houston, when i was visiting her - Canny i hear you cry !!!

To be honest i nearly didn't enter the Penny Black Saturday Friends Challenge, as the Challenge is 'Love Is -----' and although i had the word Love (it was on a wooden stamp 'Love You'), i didn't have the 'IS' bit or so i thought, till i went routing around my transparent sets and found the sentiment 'Spring Is Here' on 'Garden Friends', -  as i couldn't do a computer generated sentiment as my inkjet has run out !!!
The stamp i'm using is one that i've had for ages in fact it came as part of a package for taking out a magazine, about 2 years ago.

Sweet Surrender

Hi,

After an eventful weekend in Yorkshire - we are now home safe and sound, thank goodness.
1) the winds and rain - OH had to drive to Sunderland on Friday and as he drove back to Yorkshire there were loads of lorries jack knifed everywhere
2) OH had a flat tyre Saturday - had to call out the AA, who changed it to the spare, but it was a 'Space Saver' which means it would never have got us back to Sussex !!, so after some frantic phoning around he found a new one in York and off he went to get it sorted - so that was the best part of Saturday gone !!
3) Fortunately we came home yesterday on the A1M and not the M1, as Junctions 39 - 37 were closed and an Air Ambulance was involved.

Todays card started off with a sketch designed by my lovely friend Sandra over on Docrafts and the stamp is one i bought last Wednesday !!! - gee i'm such a sucker for PB's and bargains, it was half price, but to justify it i thought i could use it for snow and leaves as well, what do you think ?

I'm in a little bit of shock at the moment, as i don't normally win anything and just lately i have and i'm so excited and pleased - i would also just like to thank them all too.

Playing Cards !!

Hi,

My burn was starting to heal really nicely, until i woke up Sunday morning and i had some how taken the skin off of some of it - boy was it painful, but it seems to have settled down a little now, thank goodness.

Gee what sort of card do you make for Alan's (other half) nephew who is at Southampton University studying 'Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering', who is going to be 21 on Thursday !!!, well after some thought i remembered seeing an idea in a magazine using playing cards to spell out the number, so that is what i have done.

What do you think of my new sidebars ?? - Shabbyblogs told me i had to change it before the end of January, or i would loose it, anyway after a little scrolling through i found this one and it's called 'Whisper', so i just had to have it !!!
